BIOGRAPHY

Eric Torres was born in Costa Rica and from an early age began his interest in music, inspired and motivated by his father, Marcos Torres, lead singer for the orchestra “Saint Francis”.

Eric became a very popular singer when he was invited to be the lead singer for

“Los Hicsos Band” in Costa Rica. After two years of an exhilarating experience with them, another opportunity opened up to perform with the band “La Empresa”.

A new song “Latino Soy” sung by Eric Torres was the number one hit in Costa Rica. He then went on to record several other albums.

Eric’s dreams were unlimited and he made the decision to expand his career. He had the opportunity to relocate to Los Angeles, CA as a professional singer.

His first performance was at the “Costa Rica Restaurant” with “Fernando Echandi”.

Mr. Echandi was a great influence on Eric by persuading him to sing all different levels and styles of music to become the successful singer he is today.

 In 1995, Eric was introduced to a “Salsa Band” called “Latin Fusion” Known today as

 “Orquesta Tabaco y Ron” He was given the opportunity to be the lead singer, along with other great musicians, finding his own style singing romantic Salsa music. In a short period of time he became popular earning contracts with Salsa musicians and recording as back-up singer for many well know salsa singers such as: Domingo Quiñones, Johnny Rivera, Kevin Cevallo, Michael Stuart, Tito Nieves, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Celia Cruz, among others.

He then decided to prepare and develop his talent singing in English and Italian. By now his voice acquired versatility and style, singing different levels, with his unique voice and tone. This was a great benefit to him since he obtained contracts to work in recording studios for “radio commercials” singing for “AT&T”, “Carl’s Junior”, “Toyota” and many more commercials that were played in popular radio & TV stations (English & Spanish).

During the same time period he was a backup singer for other famous artists:

 “Alvaro Torres”, “Ricardo Montaner”, “Tito Nieves”, ”Enmanuel”, “Carlos Ponce”, “Obie Bermudez” & “Joan Sebastian”.

Thanks to all this success he was ready to take the next step recording his own CD;

“TU CARIÑO SE ME VA” released in October 2004 at “Ecuasound Studios” under the supervision of Ivan Castro, a personal friend and manager.
